Wednesday 22 September Arrived in Knysna just in time to se the PM goods depart, with two loaded timber wagons and one Waste By Rail wagon. The sun appeared on cue to get a good shot of the train climbing through Keytersnek behind 19D 3324. We had booked accommodation on a farm overlooking the Maalgate River bridge. We had just arrived when we observed 34-924 and 34-925 hauling the Blue Train from George across the bridge and disappearing around the curve towards Hartenbos. Thursday 23 September After an early rise, caught the morning goods at Bleshoender just before sunrise. Three timber wagons and two Waste By Rail wagons formed the load. Nice shots on the Swartvlei and around Goukamma, followed by a great reflection crossing the lagoon into Knysna. A little later I joined the enthusiast line-up atop Montagu Pass for the morning show, which was started by blue 19D 2749 + GMAM 4122 hauling the Union Limited over the pass in fine style under a sunny sky. Shortly afterward, GL 2351 scampered over the pass with a train of 7 coaches, barely seeming to notice the load on the drawbar, again in brilliant sun. I was pleased to meet fellow sartrainer Robert Sandusky on top of the pass, what a great place to meet. Followed the GL to Camfer for a couple of record shots there. A visit to George shed revealed 19D 2683, 19D 2698 (with 2653's yellow-lined tender), 24 3635 all in steam, and 24 3693 standing cold.
