SANRASM - Father's Day REGM Ramble
17th June 2001
A very pleasant outing was enjoyed by the passengers on the
SANRASM Father's Day REGM Ramble. 6th Class 454 did the honours
hauling a feeder tank, diner "Shashi", a suburban sitter and a
combination coach. Cruising at a leisurely pace saw us pass Cooke
Recovery Plant, Cooke 1 Shaft, then arriving at Cooke 2. The train
was turned here and quite some time spent cleaning fire, the coal
not being of the best quality. A runpast was held after leaving Cooke 2 at the overbridge just near Cooke 1 (see pic below). The diehard enthusiasts were a bit put out by the happy headboard on the loco, but the enthusiasm of the many kids on board overcame that! More fire cleaning at Cooke Recovery Plant before a tender-first departure for the SANRASM site again. All pictures Copyright © 2001 Trevor Staats |
