NG15 - 118  2-8-2 Henschel 1938

Withdrawn from service by SAR 7/7/82. Purchased by Western Australian Light Railway Preservation Association and shipped to Western Australia in July 1984.
This engine was in somewhat worse condition than 123 on arrival having been taken out of service by SAR due to derailment damage. Was restored to operation over a period of time. Work included substantial reconstruction of the cab, boiler repairs and much new plumbing. Returned to service in 1995 Operated until May 2002, since when it has been set aside awaiting boiler repairs. Materials have been obtained to re-tube the boiler but is awaiting labour. Probably a couple of years before this loco runs again.
Currently at Bennett Brook Railway, which is located in a large natural bushland park area near Perth known as Whiteman Park.

NG15 - 123  2-8-2 Anglo-Franco-Belge 1949

Withdrawn from service by SAR 23/2/83. Purchased by Western Australian Light Railway Preservation Association and shipped to Western Australia in July 1984.
Restored to operating condition soon after arrival in WA at Bennett Brook Railway's workshops at Whiteman Park. Entered service on Bennett Brook Railway in 1985.  Operated until the restoration of NG15 - 118 completed which allowed it to be set aside in 1996, pending attention to problems with the front end. After several years of inaction work is now progressing on 123. The cylinders and valve checks have been re-bored, new pistons and valves manufactured and installed. Valve gear and motion is being overhauled, and a new main steam pipe manufactured. It is hoped to have the loco back in service during 2005.

NG15 - 124  2-8-2 Anglo-Franco-Belge 1949

is the saddest one to me as I have seen pictures of her in her glory and the sight of her now stripped of her covers and trimmings, rusting away is heartbreaking. I have many pictures of her when she was still running, including one picture that I have taken from an Apple Express booklet, without permission I am afraid, but I had to put it in as it really shows off how wonderful she looked, compared to now.
More photos on the Apple Express pages, and the Ken Stewart Collection page.
